Message from the Archbishop of Westminster
The role of Archbishop’s House, Westminster is significant in the life of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and I believe that its upkeep is a telling sign of the wellbeing of the Church in this land. The day-to-day costs of running such a prominent building in the centre of London are of great concern to those responsible for the upkeep and administration of property in the Diocese of Westminster.
It is with this in mind that I wish to express my deep gratitude to the members of The Society of St Augustine of Canterbury who, since 1922, have generously supported successive Archbishops of Westminster with the conservation and maintenance of the house in which I live. Not only have the members of the Society been charitable in their giving, they have also contributed above and beyond the rate of inflation towards the upkeep of Archbishop’s House.
I am pleased to be able to offer Mass each month for the intentions of members as a way of expressing my appreciation for all they have done and continue to do. On behalf of all of those who live and work in Archbishop’s House, I thank you for your kindness and pray God’s blessing upon your lives.
